Harry Nespolon has more than 30 years’ experience in general medical practice. He is the current President of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Harry enjoys all aspects of general practice and in particular skin cancer and procedural general practice (including IUD and Implanon) insertion.
Harry also works at the Neutral Bay Medical Practice.
Lyn has over 20 years of medical experience including solo general practitioner for 10 years in Brisbane and Sydney; and subsequently in group medical practices in Sydney and Canberra. She also worked in regional medical practice in Central Queensland.
Lyn had a sabbatical from medical practice to gain a law degree at UNSW specialising in refugee law. She subsequently worked for in human rights law for the Attorney General Department and for the Refugee Review Tribunal. She has also worked in a private law firm as a medico-legal lawyer and for the Social Security Tribunal as a Tribunal Member. She has been at the CBD medical practice since 2007.
Lyn has special interest in mental health and is an accredited GP provider of focussed psychological strategies. She works closely with clinical psychologists and psychiatrists to deal with the spectrum of mental health issues. She is experienced in preparing mental health care plans and reviews. Other areas of special interest are Women's Health, Health Assessments, Life Style advice and Holistic Medicine. Lyn provides GP Management Plans for patients with chronic medical conditions that incorporate medical treatments and lifestyle prescriptions.
Lyn has been researching the social history of Chinese pioneers of the Northern Territory. Her family is among the earliest Chinese immigrants from 1880 arriving at the time of the Pine Creek gold rush and the building of the railway. Her grandfather was a leading merchant who had business interests in Darwin, Broome, Pine Creek, Sydney, Fiji and Hong Kong. Lyn completed an Asian Studies degree to further her research into the ancestors in China and to better understand her Chinese heritage.
Lyn is an avid tennis player, swimmer, gym enthusiast and ballroom dancer. She has competed in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, France and the UK in ballroom dancing over the past 5 years.
Dayna and her family are currently in Canada for 6 months. She will be retuning to CBD Medical Practice, to her regular consulting times at the start of 2020.
Prior to becoming a GP, Dayna worked in a number of areas of medicine including: adult and paediatric acute care, obstetrics/gynaecology and psychiatry (adult and child/adolescent).
Dayna has special interests in women’s health, sexual health, antenatal/obstetrics care, paediatrics and mental health. She has a Diploma of Obstetrics/Gynaecology and is accredited for shared care at RNSH, RPA and St George/Sutherland Hospital.
Dayna also has a Diploma in Child Health. She can insert and remove Implanon (contraceptive implant) and Mirena (intrauterine device).
When Dayna is not at the practice she enjoys spending time with her family, doing yoga and running.
Rachelle thoroughly enjoys the continuity of care that General Practice offers.
She values the unique position of General Practitioner to not only treat illness, but also treat the whole person and keep people healthy for longer. Rachelle graduated with Honours from University of New South Wales, and then received significant training in Adult medicine and paediatrics both in Australia and the UK. She holds a Diploma of Paediatrics from Sydney Children's Hospital and a Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health from Family Planning NSW.
Rachelle has special interest in Sexual health, Women's and men's health, Paediatrics, Mental Health and preventative medicine.
In 2017, Rachelle swam solo across the English Channel, fundraising for Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA). She has 4 young children and enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle.
Vasantha studied medicine at Sydney University and has been a full time GP at the CBD medical Practice since 2007. Vasantha is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and is a registered GP in the United Kingdom. She has been involved in GP registrar training, and continues to be a clinical examiner for the RACGP.
Vasantha is interested in all aspects of general practice, with a particular focus on mental health, preventive health measures, women's health and fertility, chronic disease management and paediatrics. She provides continuity of care, and has a holistic approach to managing her patients. Vasantha has a diploma in paediatrics, and has additional qualifications in mental health, sexual and reproductive health.
Vasantha loves spending time with her young children, exploring the arts and nature and scuba diving.
Bernadette is a graduate of the University of New South Wales and is a fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has over 15 years’ experience as a medical practitioner.
Bernadette is passionate about women’s health particularly in preconception and fertility assessment, insertion of contraceptive devices – Implanon, Mirena and copper IUD and is accredited for antenatal shared care with RHW, RPAH, RNSH and St George Hospital. She has also completed a Diploma in Child Health with Westmead Children's Hospital and enjoys looking after children. Bernadette is also trained to assess varicose veins and can treat spider veins. She can also give acupuncture and do skin checks and is developing an interest in genomics in primary care.
Away from the practice, Bernadette likes to spend her time playing squash, outdoors hiking, taking photos and having stimulating conversations with people.
